Commercial Renovation on Newbury Street Boston
This project was a complete ground-up transformation of the MaxMara commercial store on Newbury Street in Boston. Although the work initially began under a different contractor, Hemlock Contracting stepped in and successfully brought the project to completion.
Challenges:
Early on, one of the main challenges was transferring existing permits, which required additional time before construction could fully resume. From there, the team worked through every required inspection to keep the project on track. Additional hurdles included addressing architectural changes, working with the complexities of a historic 1800s building, and managing the logistics of multiple inspections. Each step demanded close coordination to ensure compliance while maintaining progress.
Result:
After months of careful planning, revisions, and walkthroughs, the MaxMara renovation was completed successfully. The finished store features a modernized layout that fits seamlessly within the historic building, delivering a polished and inviting retail environment. Today, the store is officially open and stands as a showcase of Hemlock Contracting’s ability to execute complex commercial renovations with precision and care.
